This week there was a discussion on Facebook prompted by an aquaintance of mine about the teaching of cursive in elementary school. He was appalled that they no longer teach cursive to children here in Ontario. My daughter and I were having the same discussion earlier in the week because a girl she knows can't read cursive at the age of 13, which prevented her from knowing the name of a brand of cookies she likes because the packaging is in cursive. Get Your Sparkle On
Last week I encountered an elderly man in the waiting room of my office. He was waiting to see one of the chiropractors I share my office space with. As one does, I asked him, "How are you?" He replied, "Well, I can't be too good. I'm here, aren't I?" He said it in a lighthearted manner so I laughed but then took the opportunity to point out that chiropractics is not only for patients who are in pain or unwell and that many people see chiropractors when they are healthy in order to stay well. … [Read more...]
