ABCs of Joy – O is for Oceans, Oracle Cards, and Oases.

Today’s joy challenge is to create an oasis of joy somewhere in your home. Devote a small area (Or a whole room! Or your whole house!) to fill with things that make you feel joyful so that you can go there whenever you need a boost.

Other joyful O things:
♡ Oracle cards. These cards have messages, affirmations, and beautiful artwork that are meant to uplift, inspire, and clarify our thoughts and feelings. They can bring joy for yourself and for others if you learn to do readings them.

It’s not hard. Message me about my oracle card class of you’re interested in learning more.

♡ Oceans. The endless horizon, the sound of the waves hitting the shore, the colour, or the fun of playing in the water – oceans bring joy in many ways.

ABCs of Joy – N is for Nature, Naps, and Neon.

Today’s joy challenge is to spend some time outside with nature. Even if that’s in your backyard or hugging the only tree on your street. Humans are predisposed to need nature so make sure you’re getting your fix.

Other joyful N things:
♡ Naps. Because they’re great and can totally reset our mood (aka joy-o-meter).
♡ Neon. Wonderful, bright colours and flowing lines make them joyful. Also, the surprise of finding one, since they’ve become so rare. This one is at the @rialtotheatergrayling and across the street from my favourite diner.

ABCs of Joy – M is for Movies, Murals, and Magic.

Today’s joy challenge is to experience all the surprise and magic that there is in the world. There is so much we take for granted that 100 years ago (or even 20!) would have been considered magical. Appreciate the wonder in everyday things and the world in general.

Other joyful M things:
♡ Movies. The anticipation, the surprise of not knowing how the story unfolds, the laughter, the music… there are so many joyful aspects to movies.

♡ Murals. Especially street art. They are always a delight to happen upon and are usually full of colour and flowing lines. 📸: mural by @plasticbirdie and eatcho.com in Portland, OR.

ABCs of Joy – L is for Laughter, Letting Go, and (Love) Letters.

Today’s joy challenge is to laugh. And to make someone else laugh. Laughter is joyful and contagious so spread it around as much as you can! Go to a comedy club, watch a funny movie, or hang out with friends. Then share a joke or a meme with someone else. Laughter is easy to find and so good for you!

Other joyful L things:
♡ Letting go. Of thoughts, beliefs, habits, and anything that doesn’t make you joyful. Or, declutter your house like Marie Kondo does.
♡ Letters. Love letters or letters to family or friends all bring joy. Send someone you love a letter today (you could also tell them how much you Appreciate them and how Grateful you are for them while you’re at it.) Thanks to @linc_sim for the suggestion!

ABCs of Joy – K is for Kindness, Kisses, and Kids.

Today’s joy challenge is to do a random act of kindness for someone. Smile as you pass by, hold the door open, or say a kind word to someone are small gestures that can go a long way towards making both you and the other person feel good.

Also, shout out to @kindnesswarrior who inspire kindness through their locally made clothing.

Other joyful K things:
♡ Kisses. Whether it’s a romantic kiss or a pet kiss, they add to your joy.
♡ Kids. They embody pure, unadulterated joy. Hang out with them, observe them, watch videos of them – and learn from them!
